My Idol Tiger Woods Wins..!

Really admire the mental strength and determination of Tiger Woods. Trailing by 1 stroke at the 18th hole of this morning's US Open playoff against Rocco Mendiate, he was able to hold his nerve and manage a birdie.

This Major win is really another showcase of why Tiger Woods is the best golfer that mankind will ever know... till the emergence of his daughter..? Maybe, just maybe, that his daughter may take over his mantle in future. Who knows?

In fact, on the contrary i must submit to Rocco's fighting spirit instead of Tiger's. If Tiger wins, it is expected. But the way Rocco started and able to maintain throughout 72 holes and got even with Tiger is admirable. By the way, he is 45 yrs and is the oldest veteran in 108th US Open. Tiger is probably pure lucky. If he lost, he ot the media will push all the blame to his knee injury.

Thanks for the comment.

I must agree on Rocco's fighting spirit is admirable, especially at this level of competition and for 91 holes for 5 days... At the age of 45, he is showing all people that age is no barrier to whatever you set out to do. Apologies to all Rocco's fans when I only highlighted Tiger's victory in my previoius post. Here, I say 3 cheers to Rocco... You earned my respect and admiration.

I also agree that Tiger was lucky in this Open because the 1st sudden death hole happened to be the 7th hole which he birdied earlier on. I think we do agree that Luck is and will always be part and parcel in any competition.

On Tiger's injury, nobody really knows the extent of his knee injury before and during the Open except making guesses from his facial expressions and walking manner. From today's paper, he revealed the extent of his injury and he didn't want it to take away the focus and credits from the Open and the organiser. I thought what Tiger has done showed his maturity and high EQ as a disciplined and sensitive person. Most often than not, people will state excuses right from the start so as to get sympathy votes if lose or admiration with victory. I am only puzzled with Tiger's decision to play despite injuring his knee again just 2 weeks before US Open.

Only Tiger knows the answer...
